10 Spectacular Things Happening Right Now!

Inspiration can strike at the oddest of times.

Then, sometimes your coach has a sneaky way of shoving you out of the “procrastination airplane” – with your chute on, of course! {this post inspired by Coach Jennie}

For starters, I’m thrilled to ‘officially‘ launch the Do Stuff You Love blog {procrastination can no longer stand in the way of inspiration around these parts!}

Today I’m excited to share 10 spectacular things that are happening right now in my life.

Why am I sharing?

Two reasons: 1) Coach Jennie has encouraged her community to spread the good that’s going on in each of our lives and 2) I’m a staunch advocate for spreading the message of focusing more on the positive things in life.

So here’s a run-down of 10 very spectacular things {in no particular order of importance!} happening in my neck o’ the woods these days.

1) I’m an Author! Yes, I can honestly and enthusiastically say that “I am an author.” This thrills me to no end. As of this moment I’ve released two books into the universe and have a third releasing this week {more on that later}. I’m also on a mission to write two more this year and I have plans to write somewhere between four and six in 2015. I’m really enjoying it, too! Some days I think just how much I’m enjoying it is actually the craziest part of this whole thing.

2) My youngest son is turning 14! That’s an amazing thing for me to think about. I thought when he turned Thir-TEEN that life would really be strange, but now we’re just taking the whole ‘TEEN’ thing to another level! It’s a wondrous adventure being a mom. It’s the job of a lifetime for me, seriously. I was born to do this. I love every part of it – even the hard parts. I love who he’s becoming and who he already is. I love that he knows how much I love him and that, for now, I’m still cool enough to be seen with in public {do NOT even attempt to tell me how fleeting this will be!}. I remember the day he was born so fondly. I cherish everything about him.

3) I created a beautiful program that was the hardest project I’ve ever done and I’m still in love with it. It’s called A Year of Time and it’s comprised of 365 daily emails from me about how to live more intentionally, slay the time thieves in your life, make memories that matter, and live a life worth savoring. It’s by far the biggest project I’ve done in my solopreneur gig. I even got dubbed last year with the coolest nickname this side of the Rockies, “The Time Thief Ninja Slayer!” Yeah, I’m keeping that one! I love how writing A Year of Time made me feel. I love how sharing it with others makes me feel. I love hearing, and seeing, the transformation it causes in people’s lives. Change is such a beautiful thing.

4) My Sci-Fi book, Easy Does It, releases this week. It’s been a year-long process for me to get to the point where I felt comfortable, and ready, to let others read it. I wrote it as part of NaNoWriMo in November 2013. I wrote it only for me and my son. I wrote it only for the bragging rights associated with writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. I never even thought about the next steps. Until February, when not one, not two, but three of my closest and dearest family members & friends {or at least they were until this happened} called me out on it – separately. It was some evil Jedi mind trick, I just know it. But in February they all three assaulted me, I mean confronted me, I mean asked me if I was going to publish it. Okay, they asked me WHEN I was going to publish it. To them it was a no-brainer, publishing was the logical next step, right? To me, their words were foreign. What is this publish you speak of? It took a few days weeks for me to process this as logical. My “Spock” must have left me temporarily. But by April I had it in the hands of the first BETA readers. School got out in May and I was busy with summer activities {read: I was procrastinating releasing it into the world}. So I finally decided to go ahead and release it in late September or October (read: I was being fervently pushed by those who professed to love me}. Then the flu+bronchitis had other plans {no, really. I was ready by now, but my body had other plans!}. I can now state that it officially releases to the world on November 6th and I couldn’t be more scared, terrified, thrilled about it!

5) It’s November again, which means I’m writing the sequel to the Sci-Fi book. I decided somewhere along the way to make the book a Book Series. What juju coffee juice am I drinking these days? I go from writing my first book just for me and my son, to publishing it {and those other two books I just up and suddenly decided to write, then wrote + published from May through September}, to deciding to make it an undetermined number of books in an entire series. I’ve lost my ever-loving mind, folks! But here I go again and I’ve already got over 2,000 words down on Day 1 of NaNoWriMo. Don’t know what NaNoWriMo is? You can get all the pretty little details here. Hey! It’s only November 3rd, you’ve still got time to get your NaNo on with me!

6) Disney, ah wonderful and lovely Disney. If you know me at all, you know how much I love, love, love, love, love my Disney. I didn’t have near enough Disney this year – only two trips. Only TWO trips!! We went to D.C. for our summer vacation this year instead. What the what?!?! I know, I don’t get it either. What was I thinking? D.C. vs. Disney?? But, rest assured, I’m already plotting, scheming, planning my next trip to Disney!!

7) Grandkids!! Yes, I’m a grandma. You had to know that about me already, didn’t you? You can read more about it on my About page, if you don’t already know the story. But I have thrilling news that I’m about to add another grandkiddo to the mix and I. Can’t. Wait! Being a grandma is just way too much fun. I highly recommend it! There’s a saying that goes “Children are often spoiled because no one will spank Grandma.” I so whole-heartedly resemble this.

8) The Do Stuff You Love blog community is growing, changing, expanding, and it’s actually – finallyliving! I’ve finally decided to make a commitment to breath new life into it and to keep it alive and going long-term. I’ve mapped out a strategy, a content path {priorities, time, focus, fear, and more}, and a goal! I’m so glad you’re here, reading this today. You are the reason I write. If there’s something I can help you with, or something you think I should focus on writing about, tell me!

9) Friends and community! I have the best friends a girl could ever ask for. It’s because of each of you {you know who you are} that I love creating new content and sharing it. It’s because of you that I push myself further than even I think I can. It’s because of you that I get vulnerable, get real, and allow myself to be shaken to the core by uncontrollable fear that I somehow manage to rise out of. It’s because of you that I continue to Amplify my life in so many ways! Speaking of Amplify, I just finished a fantastic virtual biz summit with five other super-special ladies. You can check it out here. We rocked the house down! Truth!

10) Hubz! He probably doesn’t even know that I’ve been calling him that for a while now. It’s my little affectionate nickname for him. I know, that’s more than you ever wanted to know about me. But I have the best husband, soulmate, friend, and partner anyone could ever ask for. He inspires me. He motivates me. He encourages me. Sometimes he frustrates me, but that’s just because I love him and care what he thinks! If you haven’t found your special person, keep looking. Once you find someone this special, you’ll know what all the fuss is about. But keep your mitts off of my man! I’m talking to you, Annie! {just kidding!}

Like I said, these were in no particular order, just the random musings of an inspired solopreneur, mom, wife, grandma, friend, daughter, sister, neighbor, author, & Disney-addict!
